Mansfield Elementary School Craft Club

  • March 25th-25th, 2025
  • Hosted a recycling crafting session at the Mansfield Elementary School Craft Club for 3-4th grade students
  • Students learned about the importance of recycling and what can and can’t be recycled
  • Used trash material donated from MES staff and parents
  • Used a variety of trash material(egg cartons, plastic bottles, soda tabs, etc.) to create art pieces of various environmental scenes!

Mansfield Public Library Wonder Workshop

  • March 27th, 2025
  • Coordinated a recycling crafting session at the Mansfield Public Library Wonder Workshop
  • Attendees of the Wonder Workshop enthusiastically used an array of trash materials (bubble wrap, pipe cleaners, plastic bottles, etc.) to create art pieces

Waste to Wonders Art Competition

  • April-March, 2025
  • Competition website: wastetowonders.odoo.com
  • Organized the Waste to Wonders Art Competition for students in grades K-12 passionate about the environment, conservation, and art
  • Cash prizes ranged from $50-$150
  • Received submissions from Elementary to High School grade levels
  • All submissions were displayed at the Eastern Connecticut State University Student Art Gallery, as part of the “Waste to Wonders” official exhibition
  • On April 11th we hosted the “Waste to Wonders Art Competition Awards Ceremony” in which awards were announced and the prize money was distributed
  • Families and friends of participants celebrated the artwork of passionate young environmentalists
  • Event was photographed and posted on Mansfield Public Schools Facebook Page
